Salam everyone!
Hongkong was okay I guess haha. Its just that, I will never go back there for a holiday again but Disneyland is exceptional. hehehe. So where do I start?
Day1
Reached hk international airport at 0930hrs. Touchdown feeling so hungry and I forgot we are in a country which is difficult to find a halal food around. Met the tour guide there and bought the package for disneyland and ocean park for me and my bestfriend, Nadiah. Then off we go to the hotel, checked in and I was super shocked with the hotel environment, the rooms and etc. It wasn't like what I imagined before we arrived hahaha. I shall not say much but Alhamdulillah for the stay even though it wasn't even a 1 star hotel LOL. Oh btw, this hk trip was a package Nadiah's mom got from groupon. So lesson learnt, when looking for affordable package... Please check the hotel reviews and also the condition of the hotel rooms ahhh. :)
So this is the one. I think our budget hotels in Singapore is 100times better than this.
Oh and we have our tanjong pagar PSA view there. LOL.
Hotel name is Rambler Oasis located at 1 Tsing Yi Rd, Hongkong.
So after settling our stuff, freshened up and changed, we had our lunch at an Indian cuisine restaurant located in Tsim Sha Sui. It was about 6-8 stations from the place we are staying. We didn't took the MTR(MRT) but we took the cab there instead since we are not yet familiarise with their train system. I had nasi biryani but it doesn't taste like biryani at all. Since we are so hungry, tak cerewet lah. besides, its really so difficult to find halal food nearby. It was raining heavily on the first day so we didn't explore much. After lunch, we headed down to MongKok. It's a place where they had Ladies Market, Sneakers Street and etc. This time, we decided to take their MTR since it's just 4 stops away from Tsim Sha Sui. Their MTR looks exactly like ours here but their train system is more confusing and complicated. They have blue, red, green, yellow and different colours have different names and obviously I can't remember the names haha. Like ours, east west line, circle line, downtown line etc.
It was still raining in Mongkok. Walked through ladies market for like an hour. One thing about hk, it's very expensive. I bought souvenirs for like $40. And it's only keychains, pens and the fridge magnet. No wonder a friend of mine from china said, "you bring $1,000 not enough" This explains. haha. So singaporeans, don't complain and say it's very expensive here. Please go to hongkong okay, it's almost the same.
So after walking through the whole stretch of the market, me and Nadiah headed down to Wan Chai to have our dinner. Her family decided to go back to the hotel to rest and we get dinner for them instead. Since we wanted to have halal dimsum, we managed to find the place after walking for more than 3km. We got lost on our way there and its not easy to travel with your always cranky bestfriend okay. hahaha. Thank god for our wifi router, with the help of GPS also.
This is where they served Halal dimsum and other halal dishes.
40, Oi Kwan Rd. Nearby MTR station, Wan Chai.
Unfortunately, they serve dimsum only from 10am-3pm. I just had their mee goreng instead and Nadiah had her crispy fried noodles. We tapao-ed some dishes to bring back to the hotel. It was 8plus already and we planned to get home by train but both of our legs are screaming for help hahaha. I was running here and there just to get a cab. There's so many taxi around but all was hired. The funny thing is, you can just flag a cab anywhere and everywhere even in the middle of the road as and when you like. The cab fare cost us almost $30++. Yes, our hotel is far from the city area.
Day 2
Woke up at 7am. Since we were told that the bus will fetch us at 0930hrs to disneyland. I got very excited and looking forward to meet Elsa, Anna and Olaf only. hahahaha.
Okay the entrance fee for Disneyland is 535 HKG dollars which is $97.40. We paid for the whole day package with bus to and fro but without meal is 680 HKG dollars which is $123+ dollars. Idk if it's a big difference or not but I think even if we didn't take the package, we will still spent the same for the public transport. plus minus here and there. Besides, we took the whole day package till 8.30pm. So yeah. 10hrs walking around disneyland is tiring okay haha.
We queued for photo session with Mickey & Minnie almost 2hrs right after we entered haha. Otherwise, its all fine. Queue-ing for elsa and anna doesn't take me more than 30 mins also haha. Obviously, its very crowded especially its the holiday period and kids are everywhere. Me and nadiah went to their souvenir shops. OMG their plush toys, t-shirts, keychains, dolls, pillows, chocolates etc etc etc and since I'm a frozen freak, it's everywhere too. I love DISNEYLAND! Oh and their price is affordable if you bring a lot of cash with you, if not suck thumb only lah. hahahaha. Of course it's expensive, what do you expect right. It's the same as how tourist come to USS and say "wahh very expensive ah" lol
We spent more time at their Fantasy Land where all those disney princess will come out for photo sessions. Sadly, we didn't manage to get one with cinderella, princess belle and princess aurora because they are nowhere to be found. BUTTTTTTTTT I"VE GOT MINE WITH ELSA, ANNA AND OLAF! HE HE HE HE HE HE
STARSTRUCK! HE HE
OLAF IS SUPER ADORABLE TOO!
I also took their video to say some wishes for my nieces in Spore who is also a big fan of Frozen.
Elsa is so pretty, I'm melting. AHHHHHHHHH
Will upload the videos soon. :)
They have thrilling rides too. My dearest Nadiah forced me to take this "viking" kind of roller coaster but it's much worser than viking. I don't know how to describe it but if I'm able to upload the video, you will know what I mean. My heart stopped for a moment when it went up all the way 90 degrees and then down again and 90 degrees backward fall again and then went up again 90 degrees. Oh wells, things I do for my bestfriend. There are other fun rides too but since we only found out nearly at the end of the day, both of us were too tired to try the rest.
At about 8pm everyone gathers around the centre of Disneyland for the final parade and fireworks. It was really crowded at that time. We managed to watch the parade for the last time but we didn't manage to catch the fireworks fully due to time constraint and we should blame the tour guide for giving us wrong info about the fireworks timing. :/ So all of us was rushing out to the carpark for our bus. It was 9pm already. Lucky, we had our dinner first before we headed home. No, there is no nearest shop or even 711 at our hotel area so we better fill up our tummy before we get starve.
Day 3
So it's ocean park time. Okay, short and sweet. It wasn't as fun as Disneyland. I don't know why. Ocean park is like our Escape theme park, full of rides and all those animal show thingy. Maybe because me and nadiah was very shagged from disneyland or we just don't enjoy their rides there. Yes we took a few roller coaster rides there but beside that, nothing is interesting. And for the very first time in my life, I was told to take off my hijab before taking the Flying Swing. I wasn't told to take it off before taking the other roller coaster with upside down turn but for this I am very confuse.
Something similar like this in Genting, nothing flew off. -_-
I took this THERE, nothing flew off too. WEIRDDDDDDD
Nadiah was so angry and she goes like "take off this? NO CANNOT!" hahahahaha but instead they gave me an option to wear a raincoat, put on the hood and tie it tightly. I mean like what's the point. hahahaha. Took another roller coaster, they gave me a raincoat to wear too but did not say much like I have to take off my hijab bla bla. I got no choice but to just wear it eventhough I look like an idiot. Ended up, both of us regretted taking the roller coaster till it caused us to have very bad headache. What a memories. haha.
We went off right after our lunch there. Took their cable car to the entrance cause it's quite a distance to travel down back. Do not take their cable car if you are strictly afraid of heights. You've been warned. hahaha. Nadiah is scared of height so what she did was just sit down quietly and hold the pole like a statue. lol. If you've been to genting highlands, yes it's similar.
So both of us still thinking of where to go after that. It was only 1pm. Suddenly, Nadiah suggested to go Madame Tussauds and I agreed. Oh for this ocean park package, we didn't stay till the whole day. We decided to be adventurous and go on free & easy! hahaha. Took their shuttle bus to Causeway Bay MTR station. Me and nadiah thought it was free so we just went up selamba-ly and the bus driver was like speaking in cantonese or chinese telling us to pay and we go like "oh ingatkan free" hahaha. I forgot how much was the fare but since we are using their Octopus Card(ezlink card), it doesn't really matter anyway. From causeway bay stn we were told to take the train to Central then take a cab to THE PEAK and that's where Madama Tussauds is. So we took a cab from Central and we thought it's just nearby but not. The peak is really up the hill and mountain, really at it's PEAK! hahahaha. Reached there and it was freezing cold compared to other places. Oh btw, Hongkong is not as cold as korea or japan. If you can take aircon temperature then it should be fine.
Madame Tussauds was fun. They have more Will upload the pictures soon in fb. And some sneak peak here. hehe
My crazy bestfriend with Lady Gaga lol
So lastly, we had our dinner at this Indonesian Restaurant which served Ayam penyet and stuff. Also took us some time to get there. But the journey was worth it! We can be a hong-ky! hahaha.
Iced lemon tea and Iced Chendol in HONGKONG!
HEAVEN!!!
Day 4
It's our last day. We had to check out by 12 but our flight was scheduled at 9.40pm. So we spent our last day to get our dimsum cravings fulfilled and also shopping at Mongkok again.
I might consider HongKong for another trip InsyaAllah but with better accommodation of course and also to plan my itinerary before going back there again. Honestly, I enjoyed Disneyland the most!
